Georgina Lightning brings a long track record of creative experience in the film industry as an actor, producer and acting coach on such projects as: Dreamkeepers, Backroads, Johnny Greyeyes, Christmas In The Clouds, Tecumseh The Oath, Smoke Signals, among countless others. Lightning’s directorial debut Older Than America is inspired by stories told to her by many of her family members and friends who attended the Native Indian Boarding schools. Georgina is also the cofounder of Tribal Alliance Productions, a production company committed to producing media that matters told from a native prospective.

"Gedakina is a multigenerational endeavor to strengthen the cultural identity and knowledge of Native American youth and families from across New England and to conserve our traditional homelands and sacred places." Our goal is to develop new ways of reaching Native American youth, rooted in traditional cultural teachings and values, which will provide our young people with the skills and resources to better navigate the challenges they face in a changing landscape. We focus on leadership development, community health and wellness, environmental justice and conservation, healthy relationships and cultural reclamation. We are a region-wide organization working with youth and families from rural, urban and reservation communities in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
