The Toyota Live Farewell

Thank you, Toyota Live......Goodnight!

The Ugly Cry....you know, the one Oprah always talks about

Every good ending....and beginning starts with a Magnolia cupcake.

Parting Shots: NYC

Seriously, I don't think there could have been a better hotel room view for me.

I've moved on to location number two and while I am not home, I am happy to be parked in one place for a month. I just finished a 30-day run that involved 8 different planes.  Now, if you have followed my blog the last few years, you know exactly where I am right now.  I'll let you guess in the comments section below.  If you don't want to guess, that's okay because I am about to bombard you with images from my location. Otherwise, here are some final images of my short, but always sweet, time in NY. (I'll be back to NY in 5 weeks, so don't feel sorry for me.)

It was awesome to walk out of my hotel and see the ad on a phone booth.  If you missed the Godspell rehearsal photos, click here.

I always sneak in a trip to Magnolia Bakery.

If you have not visited Chelsea Market, make sure to add this to your list for your next visit.  The interior architecture is worth a quick tour through.

The Met Opera broadcast their opening night in Times Square. Here's a scene from Anna Bolena

So many people gathered to watch, it was inspiring to see the crowd out in full force for some real culture.

I know I've been rather secretive about what I was shooting in NY.  I signed an NDA across all social media platforms until the infomerical is launched.  However, you can see my official FB page to see who I worked with. We shot in the old Maury studios.  I figured the studios were haunted with DNA tests and lost baby daddies.

Last shot of me in NY just after I left the set.  It was a very satisfying trip.  I'm sad to leave, but happy to be returning soon....

Behind the Scenes Photos: The Tony Awards

Need some socks?  Um, there was a street fair in front of the theatre only hours before...that would never happen in LA.

Here are my final photos from the 65th Annual Tony Awards red carpet.  These are truly behind the scenes photos so you can see what it was really like to be there.  It may look glamorous on TV, but sometimes things are a little different in real life.  If you missed my Starpulse article, read here first.  Then come on back to this page for a more nitty gritty details of the evening.

Interviews:  If you missed my red carpet videos, click here.

Annie, my amazing camerawoman, in front of the theatre the morning of the show.

Setting up the red carpet.......

Although I was carb-free all week, I did eat a cupcake the night before.  Magnolia Bakery is too good to resist, Annie had never had one, and how dare I deny the girl a cupcake?

The lovely Ellen Zolezzi who did my incredible hair and makeup for the evening.

The red carpet can be a hectic place........

James Earl Jones!  My commencement speaker when I graduated from NYU.

Kelsey Grammer was very kind, but I watched a little too much of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills last season to not think scandalous thoughts while interviewing him.

I loved my high pony that night.

Best Dressed in my book:  Hannah Yelland, nominee for Brief Encounter.

My favorite photo from the weekend.  Last minute studying before the carpet begins.

Annie is working hard at her job!  Audio is important.

Edie Falco looked great, but I think I captured a truly random moment.

Kathleen Marshall, winner of Best Choreography for Anything Goes, was pretty awesome.  She loved that we were both blondes wearing navy blue.  I'll take that as a huge compliment.

I told you I was obsessed!  Okay, I thought his new bride was lovely, despite how their relationship began.

Bobby Cannavale is delicious.  That is all.

It really was Sutton Foster's night.  She wins a Tony for Anything Goes and she goes home with Bobby.

The media check-in line was looooooonnnnnng.

The fans on the other side of the street lining up to see the stars.  This is tremendously close.  You cannot get this close at the Academy Awards.

Annie and I worked so hard on that red carpet.  Our notes were a disaster by the end of the night.

 Team Tony Awards!

There's a lot going on in this photo.  To my right:  notice the protestors with signs who are there to picket the show, Scottsboro Boys.  To my left:  a gussied up NYPD officer acting not so subtle.

Best glass of wine at the end of the night.

I know you like to hear who was the nicest and who wasn't the nicest on the red carpet. I will say everyone was on their best behavior except one.  Here's a blind item for you to guess:  Rudest celebrity on the red carpet......this one used to be much smaller, but now he's too big for his britches.  He may be funny on TV, but he's prouder than a peacock in real life.  His gruffness was appalling, it left a bad taste in my mouth like sour lemons.  There are a lot of clues, so read carefully.  And yes, I will reveal who it is if someone guesses correctly in the comments below.

KB is in the Big Apple!

I am finally back in NYC after an 8-month absence.  As an NYU alum, I consider Manhattan my home.  And this is how my home greets me......with lots of rain.  Ugly, ugly rain.  The kind that blows your umbrella inside out and makes sure your jeans are soaked from top to bottom.  Thanks for the welcome, NY!  I think it was a great reminder as to why I traded my winter coat for palm trees.

Of course, I did remember to bring my bright, shiny, yellow rain boots that everyone teased me about in Atlanta. Now that we have traveled to the next city, the only person laughing is me.  I can walk in puddles while my co-workers have wet socks.  However, I made a major fashion faux pas by doing the LA thing of rolling my jeans.  After experiencing soaking wet cuffs, I know why those fashionable Manhattanites tuck their skinny jeans into the boot.  Rookie move on my part.  I forgot how this rain thing works.

I ran through Times Square once called the "Crossroads of the World", but I think they need to rename it the "Crosswalk of the World" now that they have closed down parts of Time Square to accommodate the pedestrians and the constant roadblocks....yes, the tourists, who love to come to a dead stop in the middle of the sidewalk.  I know the city is sensory overload and it can be overwhelming, but "MOVE, dammit!"  Phew, I think I got my NY edge back, no LA fluff for me. I am back on my home turf.   Oh yeah, I got sidetracked.  I went and picked up my ticket to see Promises, Promises starring Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth.  4th Row, Center Seat.  NICE.

Holy cow!  This show is STILL running??!!  Hasn't everyone seen it by now?  Mamma Mia plays at The Winter Garden Theatre much like Cats, it is "Now and Forever".

A Times Square staple, Colony Music, a fantastic old-school music store guaranteed to make any musical theatre geek's heart sing.  I spent many Friday nights sorting through the sheet music and Broadway posters during my first semester at NYU with my fellow Massachusetts pal, Ken Davenport.  Where is he now?  Check out his site and be sure to follow him for some of the most valuable and innovative marketing tips around: Davenport Theatrical Enterprises.

The lovely view from my hotel....that's what I get for asking for a corner suite.  I forget how New Yorkers live on top of each other.  So little space, so many people.

After a jaunt to Times Square and a quick stop at my hotel to change out of my wet jeans, I ran over to Macy's Herald Square to shop for Streamy Awards shoes.  I was happy to see the annual Macy's Flower Show was in full bloom on the first floor.  It was fragrant and springy inside.

While I didn't have any luck at Macy's, I knew I would find some serious shoes at 10022. The place is so spectacular, it warrants its own zip code, the Saks Fifth Avenue Shoe Department.  The 8th floor isn't for the faint of heart.  The shoes are works of art and they cost an arm and a leg.

This pair of Jimmy Choo shoes would be the perfect accessory for my Streamy Awards dress.  However, the price of the shoes is close to 4 times the price of my dress.  So, no Jimmy's for me.

So I picked up this pair:  soft, buttery leather, delicate strappy sandals with.....a red leather sole.  Yep, I picked up a pair of Louboutins.  Oh, I wanted these shoes so badly.  They were even better accessories than the Choo's, but darn, they were 5 times price of my dress.  Boo!  They went back on the shelf.

So, I traded my Louboutins for a cupcake at the best place in the world, Magnolia Bakery, a Sex and the City staple.

And this is my favorite cupcake:  chocolate cake with loads of pink frosting and jimmies on top!

Then it was off to the show and a view that will never get old to me:  Hello, NY, so glad I am back!
