GBK Gifting Suite: Kids Choice Awards 2012

With Sasha Pieterse from Pretty Little Liars.

We were back in the GBK Gifting Suite this week for the Kids Choice Awards.  This one always is fun because you can ask crazy questions like "Who will win Best Butt Kicker"?  Yeah, forget the serious Oscar questions of who will win Best Actor.  We hit the ground running and ran into Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and ABC Family favorites from shows like Lab Rats, Big Time Rush, Pretty Little Liars, and A.N.T. Farm. Come and check out all of the fun we had and who everyone thought should win the Best Butt Kicker category.  You might be surprised at the answer.

By the way, several of you asked what a celebrity gifting suite is, so check out my post from 2010 that talks all about it.

GBK Productions Gifting Suites: MTV Movie Awards

I hit the GBK Productions Gifting Suite on Friday in honor of the MTV Movie Awards for Red Carpet Report on Mingle Media TV.  I arrived with a bit of a margarita hangover, so I wasn't sure how the day was going to go.  Luckily, I ran into some friendly celebs who made my job easy and the day extremely fun.  I kicked off the afternoon with an interview with Ross Matthews from The Tonight Show ("Ross the Intern") and Chelsea Lately.  I just love him. He's fun, he's cute, and you just want to hug him.  Other notables included Layla Kayleigh from America's Best Dance Crew (ABDC) who made me bust a move on camera which was only slightly embarrassing.  Finally, be sure to check out my interview with Josh Sussman from Glee.  He's my newest and unexpected crush and he asked me out on camera.....in front of his adorable girlfriend, so I guess it was scripted reality. Sigh.

Here's a short highlight video of all of the interviews where I dance, utter the word "poo", and find out whom everyone was rooting for at the show. For individual interviews, see the captions under each photo and click on the celeb's name.  Let me know what you thought of last night's MTV Movie Awards--a total hit or a total miss?

Layla Kayleigh liked my moves.  She's expecting me to join ABDC next season with my geriatric crew.

Ernie Hudson had me at Ghostbusters.  He was so kind and lovely.

Steve-O.  Uh....he staples his balls to his thigh.  Yep, I said balls.

I can't get enough of Glimmer Body Art.  I am never getting a real tattoo, so I am happy with my glittery stars.  Thanks for the kit, ladies!

Frankie Muniz and I talked Indy Light racing where I managed to drop the Toyota name.  I'm a good spokesperson.

Josh Sussman from Glee has a lot of hardcore fans on Twitter.  They started chatting with me en masse yesterday and they adore Josh as much as I do.

Amber Stevens from Greek was on trend with her color blocking orange and green.  I'm not sure I could get away with that outfit, but it looked great with her tall, long legs.

Tyler Blackburn from Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family.  Are you ready for Season 2?

Make It Or Break It

As I sit here waiting for another episode of ABC Family's Make It Or Break It, I cannot believe the continued response to my soap articles: the original one I wrote and the call for quotes for my upcoming article about the second phase of the daytime fans' fight against ABC.  I admire their fortitude and call to action throughout this entire process.  I'm not sure it is going to work out the way they want now that Susan Lucci is going to Desperate Housewives.  I just don't see All My Children surviving without Erica Kane.  I am sure all of the news will be announced and confirmed at the ABC network upfronts on the afternoon of May 17th.

In the meantime, here's my article on Ayla Kell who stars as Payson on ABC Family's Make It Or Break It that I wrote for Starpulse.  Since I love the show, I totally geeked out when show creator, Holly Sorensen, pushed out my article on Twitter yesterday.  Thank you, Holly!  Also, Ayla Kelly is a total doll who gave me the inside scoop on what it is really like behind the scenes on the show.  You have to give that cast kudos because they are required to be athletes and actors.  While they rely upon former elite gymnasts to perform their stunt doubles, they still have to act, move, and train just like their real-life counterparts.  As anyone knows, it isn't easy faking Olympic gymnastics.

*UPDATE*:
Ayla Kell and ABC Family kindly mentioned my article on Facebook and Twitter today. Yes!

Bad TV

Yep, I'm guilty of watching bad reality shows all summer long.  It's my guilty pleasure and I find that the busier my work life gets, the worse my television viewing gets.  I just cannot stop.  My name is Kristyn and I am a crappy TV viewer.  I am the one who keeps reality shows on the air and gets SAG (Screen Actors Guild) up in arms over the lack of work for actors. I am the one who thinks she has seen it all with the each Housewives franchise, but then hops aboard the next city.  Hello, DC!  And don't think I am not excited for the Beverly Hills franchise.  Come on, they are giving us Kelsey Grammer's ex-wife and a Hilton, all in one show!  Then, I scoff at the cheesy dates each bachelor goes on with Ali while she giggles every word out of her mouth on The Bachelorette.  It annoys me--yet I still watch.  I picked up the remote on Monday to watch The Bachelor Pad which basically is a hybrid version of MTV's The The Real World and Road Rules. Yes, we are out of our 20's, so please give us a grown-up version of debauchery in our 30's.  Thanks, ABC.  Yet, last night was a night of triumph for me as Jeff Lewis and his circus of animals and employees returned to Flipping Out on Bravo.  I love his mouthy, lazy housekeeper, Zoila, and Jeff's penchant for fast food.  I can't wait to watch him meltdown all season long over the remodel of Casa Vega in Studio City which has been dubbed the "best place to have an affair in the middle of the afternoon" because it is so dark. Dirty and scandalous things happen there and Jeff is only going to add to the drama.  Jeff Lewis makes me feel so....normal.....and boring.

Now, don't get me wrong.  I love to watch documentaries on Netflix, so I do exercise my brain from time to time.   I even joined the Mad Men band wagon because Don Draper's handsome facade intrigues me.  He will do something so kind for Peggy and then pull such a heartless move on his secretary.  It's just business, my friend.  So, I manage to get in a little quality television each week, but then I equalize the playing field with ABC Family's Make It or Break It.  Hey, I love gymnastics!  The extent of my bad television doesn't end there.  I love spoilers and the internet is ripe with them. Do you want to know who the final four are on The Bachelor Pad?  Oh yeah, I already know.  I knew who Ali picked on The Bachelorette before the finale.  Now, I don't sources at ABC, but my pal, Reality Steve does.  I honestly have no idea who this guy really is, but someone took a shine to him from the set of Mike Fleiss' shows and he gets the best scoop. ABC and Fleiss might not enjoy it, but I sure do.  I don't know why I like to find out what happens before the finale, but I also like to take a sneak peek at my Christmas gifts way before December 25th.  One of my dream interviews is Reality Steve.  He can spoil the next season of The Bachelor for me while I get another round of bad television scoop.  I wonder if he would be up for an interview?  Hey, a couch potato can dream!

I can't be the only one out there that likes cheesy TV.  Anyone?  Anyone? Who's in this with me or am I all alone in admitting my TV tastes are often lowbrow.  Tell me your favorite bad shows in the comments section or make some suggestions in quality television to help raise my IQ points.  Happy viewing!

Miss Behave Premiere

It's been awhile since I have covered a teen premiere, so I felt like the old lady on the red carpet.  It was a fun night though at the premiere of Miss Behave, a new web series on Koldcast TV.  The series follows the duplicitous life of Tori, a 16-year-old, and her older brother, Billy, who is dealing with sexual identity issues.  The unique twist to this series is that it is produced by its 17-year-old star, Jillian Clare.  She helps bring a young and truthful voice to the issues facing teens today.  Check out all of the fun on the red carpet with Mingle Media TV.

The star on her big night, Jillian Clare:

Adorable Bianca Magick in her beautiful yellow BCBG frock:

And the funniest interview of the night, Kyle Kaplan, who is a fan of cougars because he started the interview right off by asking me to be his date.  If he looks familiar, then you must be a fan of 10 Things I Hate About You on ABC Family.....sshhhh, I won't tell anyone.
