An “Up from the Underground Art Experience” benefit for the Manchester Animal Shelter and Manchester YWCA’s Domestic and Sexual Violence Support Groups

Feb 26, 2011 at The Jam Factory, 1211 Elm St. Manchester, NH

An evening of art, music and film...

The husband-wife filmmaking team of Rick Dumont and Carla Bonney are using their passion for art to raise funds in order to help those beings on this planet that are in need of support and care. For this event they have brought together several artists of various mediums in one spot to celebrate art and give something back.

Artists: Karrie Whitfield, from Brookline, Ma., Ty Snitko and Carrie Buczynski, of Marlboro, NH, Vanessa Leigh, of Epping, NH, Jake Taylor, of Newbury, Ma., and Bobbi McClellan, of Kingston, will be showing and selling their paintings, drawings, sculpture and photography.

Musical performances by: Ad Frank, of Boston, Tajoura Davis, of Manchester and S.E.M.I. (Side Effects May Include) from Rindge.

Film: presentation of the landmark independent feature film “Brothers in Communion” and a sneak peak at their next film, "The Bond"

The night begins at 7pm with the art presentations and sale. All artists will be on hand to answer questions about their works, their inspirations. Music for the ensuing two hours will be performed by Ad Frank and Tajoura Davis.
Just after 9pm the indie dramatic film “Brothers in Communion,” which was inspired by a true story, will be presented. It tells of two East Coast brothers descend into hardcore drug abuse and mental illness amidst the underground world of San Francisco will be shown. DVD copies of the film will also be available.

Following the film, S.E.M.I. will perform their experimental rock stylings and personalized covers. Ty Snitko heads up the band.

All of the artists have worked on and performed in film productions by Dumont and Bonney.

“We have been quite blessed to have been able to have the help of such amazingly creative people in bringing our creations to life,” Dumont says. “They are an incredibly talented group of kindreds whose creations have to be experienced and appreciated.”

The event is 21-plus and a suggested donation of $10 is appreciated. All of the proceeds from the event will be split between the two beneficiaries.
