Creating a Website: Doing It Yourself or Outsourcing?

New Hampshire artist and web site designer Dan Pouliot will discuss the pros and cons of DIY (Do It Yourself) vs. outsourcing your own web site. The workshop will begin with "How do I get started?,” followed by a primer on web terminology like Flash, domains and hosting. Then he'll discuss pros and cons of doing it yourself along with a tour of popular DIY strategies like Google Page Creator or blogging tools. The workshop will finish up by answering common questions from artists: How do I prevent people from printing my pictures? How do I sell online? How do I market my web site?

The Business of Being an Artist

Go beyond the abstract and set up a concrete path to success. Strategic planning helps you think logically about where you are going and what you need to accomplish. In this session, a new method of goal setting will be introduced to get you motivated and organized. Participants will leave with a specific action plan and feedback from peer exchange exercises. This workshop will be led by Jennifer Murphy Aubin, South East Regional Manager of MicroCredit-NH.
