The next New Hampshire Film and Television Industry Roundtable, presented by the New Hampshire Film and Television Office, is scheduled for Wednesday, September 17 from 12-3 p.m. in the auditorium of the newly renovated Currier Museum of Art, 150 Ash St. in Manchester.
As many regions around the country are focusing their efforts on attracting filmmakers with tax breaks and rebates, other areas are getting back to basics and making the heavy push to market what is ultimately the most important factor in deciding where a film should be shot – the location. New Hampshire has a wide breadth of diverse and unique film-friendly locales, and we would like to showcase the Currier Museum of Art as one of those gems.
The Currier, recently renovated and expanded, features additional galleries which will display 50% more of their world-class art collections and allow more room for special exhibitions. The expansion also includes two new classrooms to allow for more school groups and educational opportunities, a 180-seat auditorium for programs, a dramatic Winter Garden for special events and informal community events and a spacious café, a glass-enclosed north entrance with an expanded museum shop, accessible first floor restrooms and seating areas, and a new entrance plaza adjacent to a larger off-street parking area in a fully landscaped setting. Filmmakers take special note: the auditorium, classrooms and seminar room all have projection capabilities.
Members of New Hampshire's film industry, from student filmmakers to seasoned professionals, are invited to attend this lunch-hour networking event and see the new Currier facility up-close, get a first-hand update from the New Hampshire Film and Television Office, and participate in topical discussion related to film and television production in the state.
