New Hampshire Indie Film "Dribbles" Signs for Distribution

GOFFSTOWN, NH, March 10, 2010 – Tosi Productions, LLC, announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with New York-based Passion River Films for the locally-produced feature film, "Dribbles." Passion River will bring the full-length independent movie to academic and retail markets nationally, including the online rental giant, Netflix. With an official release date in late April, the film is immediately available for Netflix subscribers to save to their queue.

"It's been a long walk down a crooked road," said writer/director Thomas Tosi about the distribution of the film which was shot in various New Hampshire locations and completed in 2007. Co-producer Heidi Tosi pointed out that it was clear from the beginning that such a handmade and personal film would not likely attract the same distributors as mainstream studio films and that the filmmakers were wary of the business practices of many smaller film distribution companies. "When we were put in touch with Passion River," Heidi stated, "those concerns were alleviated." Both Thomas and Heidi describe Passion River as filmmaker friendly.

Passion River Films deals primarily with art house, documentary, and educational films. While the distributor concedes that marketing a small independent film without well-known stars is a challenge, it remains very enthusiastic about the story of "Dribbles" and the quality of the film. Thomas said that Passion River is particularly interested in the educational potential of "Dribbles." Set in a high school, "Dribbles" is a fictional film which deals with themes of bullying and tolerance. In addition to various festival awards, the film has received the Family Seal of Approval from the Dove Foundation and was the featured film at the 2009 New Hampshire Department of Education Conference on Bullying. The film has already been screened for numerous high school and middle school audiences, including Brewster Academy of Wolfeboro, which arranged a screening for the school's freshman class at the Red River Theatres in Concord.
