Film Screening: "Pisgah: A Place Apart" at Keene State College March 7

Pisgah: A Place Apart

This hour-long, local documentary film traces the history of New Hampshire’s largest state park – Pisgah, a 13,400-acre wilderness in Chesterfield, Winchester, and Hinsdale. Through historic photos and interviews with forest ecologists and longtime local residents, Pisgah: A Place Apart highlights the land’s logging and farming past, and explains how pockets of old-growth forest, deep in the heart of the park, survived both the saw and the felling winds of the Hurricane of 1938. Following the film, Emily Hague of the Pisgah State Park Management Plan Steering Committee will be on hand to answer questions about more recent park “history.”
