EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR INDEPENDENT, NON-PROFIT CINEMA



Red River Theatres seeks a dynamic, experienced leader to bring our established art-house cinema into its next phase of development. This person must share our passion for our unique theater – a three-screen independent movie theater offering the best film available and a wide-range of community oriented programming. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual committed to a career in independent film programming and collaborative community arts event planning.



Red River Theatres is a 4-year-old, award-winning, nonprofit cinema arts organization located in Concord, New Hampshire. It produces year-round independent film programming and collaborative community arts events. Red River Theatres is poised to become a destination regional art-house cinema.



JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the direction of the Board of Directors and reporting to the Executive Committee, the Executive Director leads Red River Theatres' day-to-day operations, planning and management. This full-time position is responsible for realizing Red River's vision to be a well known, flourishing and financially sustainable independent film venue, recognized for the excellence of its screen presentations, for its signal cultural and economic contributions to community and state, and its commitment to fostering shared experience and social discourse.



The Executive Director is responsible for the organizational planning, artistic direction, fundraising and development and financial and operational management of the theater. The Executive Director leads a staff comprised of an Assistant Executive Director, Business Manager, Facilities Manager, Office and Events Manager, Membership Coordinator, Marketing Consultant, Development Consultant, floor staff and volunteers. The executive director is the face of the theater for its members and attendees.



Qualifications include:



- College degree required

- Minimum 5 years administrative experience required

- Leadership experience; strength in managing relationships with staff and peers as well as board members and community partners

- Excellent organizational and communications skills (verbal and written)

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively

- Demonstrated grant writing and fundraising experience required

- Expertise in financial processes including budgeting

- Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as need arises

- A positive, outgoing personality with public speaking ability
