An Evening of Short Films in Portsmouth, March 30

AN EVENING OF SHORT FILMS

The Portsmouth Public Library will show six short films on Wednesday, March 30th at 7pm in the Levenson Room Theater. The films represent the finest that talented Seacoast residents have to offer whether shot in Portsmouth, starring Portsmouth residents or created by local writers. This is a one-time opportunity to see films you might have missed at earlier film festivals.

DON'T JUST STAND THERE was produced by Alan Brady for The 48hr Film Project. Somewhere far away there has been a death of a child and a man on the other side of the Atlantic is haunted by these thoughts, sounds and images. The film stars Brian Gregg, Alan Brady and Catherine Holsen Gardner and was directed by Mike Rand (USA) and Glenn Gardner (NORWAY). Shot in Portsmouth, NH and Kinn, Norway. Runtime: 6 min.

DISPOSABLE INCOME is a dark comedy about the value of human life in these "tough economic times”. It stars Chuck Galle, Michael Peters and Brandon Nigro and was written, produced and directed by Jon Frazier. Shot in Portsmouth, NH and York, ME. Runtime: 11 min.

In FURSONA a young woman learns independence from her tyrannical boss/older sister through a relationship with a Furry. The film stars Casey McDougal and Tony Wright. It was written and directed by Ryan Vandalinda and produced by Tom Cook. Shot in Hampton, Keene and Portsmouth, NH. Runtime: 35 min.

THE BOX is a story of mistakes, revenge and time travel, starring Tim Gaudreau and written by Alfonso Fabrega. It was produced and Directed by Alfonso Fabrega and Jerry Monkman for The 48hr Film Project. Shot in Portsmouth, NH. Runtime: 5 min.

In THE WAY THEY WERE INSIDE a woman discovers a pair of sunglasses that reveals the true nature of people’s intentions. The film stars Emily Briand and Bodhi Sering and was written and directed by John Herman for The 48hr Film Project. Shot in Newmarket, NH. Runtime: 8 min.

BIGHORN is the half-true story of Custer's Last Band starring Michael Walsh, Fritz Wetherbee, Gregory Athans and Greg Kretschmar, with Steve Alexander as General Custer. It was written and directed by Alfred Thomas Catalfo and produced by Glenn Gardner and Alfred Thomas Catalfo. Shot in Dover and Durham, NH; South Berwick, ME. Runtime: 16 min.

An Evening of Short Films is free and open to the public. A Q&A with the filmmakers will follow. Light snacks are provided. Parental discretion is advised.
