NH Citizens for the Arts :: Arts Advocacy Summit 2011

[We're sharing this information from the New Hampshire Citizens for the Arts.]
Join us for the ARTS ADVOCACY SUMMIT 2011, sponsored by NH Citizens for the Arts.

In the current economic and political climate, public funding for the arts, in New Hampshire and nationwide, is in danger. This is a serious situation and action is necessary! NH Citizens for the Arts is sponsoring ARTS ADVOCACY SUMMIT 2011 with the following goals:
  • to build a strong network of individuals and organizations willing to advocate for state support of the arts in the coming legislative session.
  • to work together to make the case for continuing support for the arts in this difficult environment.
  • to share methods for general advocacy in the broadest sense of the word so that participants will learn to be more successful arts advocates in both their local communities and statewide.
This is an opportunity to join with others to be part of the solution, and to help build an enduring advocacy network. We need to be well-informed and realistic, but also optimistic: there is always a chance for dedicated people to affect the political process.

Come prepared to share what you see as the greatest challenges we face, and bring examples of how the arts help your communities and schools, especially those showing successful economic impact.

Plan to attend ARTS ADVOCACY SUMMIT 2011 on January 4 (snow date 1/13/11). Those signed up for the Summit will receive a preliminary agenda and additional materials before the event.
