ConcordTV to host ACM-NE's 13th annual Video Festival

Concord Community TV (ConcordTV) is hosting the Alliance for Community Media-Northeast Region's (ACM-NE) 13th Annual Video Festival on Saturday, November 13, at the Holiday Inn, in Concord, NH from 6 to 9:30 p.m. The event recognizes individuals and groups from community TV Access Centers across the Northeast for excellence in video production and programming in 25 categories, both professional and non-professional.

New Hampshire will win big that evening, with awards being presented to winners from ConcordTV, Bedford Community TV, Goffstown TV, Londonderry TV, Merrimack TV, Nashua TV, and Wolfeboro TV.

ConcordTV will accept awards for its work in the News & Magazine Format category for its monthly production of Art In Focus, and in the Local Attractions category for its production of Market Days 2010.

The highlight of the evening will go to Dottie Grover, Director of Cable Services of Londonderry's PEG Center, as she receives the annual Chuck Sherwood Leadership Award. This award recognizes an individual whose commitment, experience and/or accomplishments has made a significant contribution through their service, or for going above and beyond the call of service to the mission and goals of the Alliance and to the preservation and growth of community media.

Grover has been a leader for more than 22 years in Public Access, Government and Education TV, and was instrumental in founding the New Hampshire Coalition for Community Media (NHCCM). She is currently the President of the organization, which supports community TV stations throughout New Hampshire.

This is the first time that the Video Festival has been held in New Hampshire. The Festival also offers workshops in the afternoon that are geared toward producers and staff of community TV stations on topics such as: Video composition, PR and Social Media, Green Screen Magic, and Copyright Laws.

The Mission of the Alliance for Community Media is to advance democratic ideals by ensuring that people have access to electronic media and by promoting effective communication through community uses of media.The Northeast Region encompasses Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.
