CPB/PBS Producers Workshop at WGBH Boston, March 2013--Apply now!

[Received information on this neat opportunity from New Hampshire Public Television:]

For the past twelve years, WGBH has hosted an annual workshop, made possible by CPB and PBS, for new and developing public media producers. Thanks to the CPB/PBS Producers Workshop, more than 220 participants from 44 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico have gained experience and skills that only the public media community can provide. Almost half of them - 95 - are on staff at public television stations.

Media makers are encouraged to apply for the 2013 Workshop, which again is being generously supported by CPB and PBS. This intensive, week-long course will add to production skills in video and on digital platforms, knowledge of the media landscape, and necessary related activities like fundraising and engagement through social media.

The CPB/PBS Producers Workshop's purpose is to develop producers who can create new programming achievements for public media on all its platforms. This goal is being achieved -- Workshop graduates are contributing to public media, nationally and locally, in television, radio and digital media.

The 2013 Workshop will be held Saturday, March 30 to Friday, April 5, 2012. Workshop travel and living are covered, and the Workshop itself is free. Applications must be received at PBS by 5:00pm on Friday, December 14.

Details and application forms are available at http://www.pbs.org/producing/producersacademy/. With your help, this year’s Workshop will be another success for public media as we welcome producers from a range of communities with diverse backgrounds and viewpoints.
