Film Studies instructor wanted for course this spring at Hesser College - Portsmouth

Hesser College in Portsmouth is seeking an instructor who can teach a film studies course this spring.

This course is an introduction to the study of film as an art. Students are taught what filmmakers do and how they do it by studying the essentials of cinematography, production design, acting, sound design, and narrative structure. Students also seek to understand what audiences do as they view film by studying how filmmakers manipulate the images onscreen. Finally, students look at filmmaking as a business, studying the interrelation between art and profit.

It is held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 8:10-10:40 p.m. and begins March 10. It is an eight-week (40 clock hour) course. There are 22 students registered.

In need of someone who is credentialed to teach, with the following degree requirements: Master’s in Fine Arts, or Film Studies, or Visual Communication or a very closely related field.
