Infomercials Update

A snapshot from my hotel TV earlier this year.

Happy Holidays!  Are you in the swing of the holiday season yet?  I am happily ensconced in LA for most of the month while I catch up on Oscar fare, friends, and my workout regime. (I plan on eating a lot this holiday season.)  I'm going to update you on a few projects that I worked on earlier this year:  The Amazing Mat and the EZ Curler. (In addition, The Rhythm Rocker continues to run almost two years later.) Yes, that means you will be seeing me on your TV screens in the middle of the night when you have insomnia.  First up, The Amazing Mat and FYI, I have one by my door and it works really well!

Next up:  EZ Curler.  This is the styling tips video, but the full infomercial will be running soon with a couple of familiar Bachelor/Bachelor Pad faces.

I will announce my Caption the Photo contest winner tomorrow, so get in those last minute entries.  It's pretty simple:  come up with a creative caption, win a prize!

Catching Up

You know I can always be found around the cupcake tray.

I am almost finished with my jet lag.  Almost.  It's just that I had to dive right into a job after coming back from Paris and there just wasn't much time to sleep or.......blog.  So here's to a bit more consistency this week!  Here are a few things I've been up to:

1.  Glimmer Body Art:  Many thanks to my friends over at Glimmer Body Art for posting my photo in their press section.  If you are looking for the perfect affordable gift for any gal, any age, this is it.  Their glimmer tattoo kit is the best in the industry.

2.  Rhythm Rocker:  I turned on my hotel TV this week to see my infomercial running.  No matter how long I work in the industry, seeing my face on TV is just plain weird.  I snapped a couple of shots from my iPhone, but you can see the full infomercial here.

3.  iVillage:  In several of the junkets I have done this year for iVillage, we asked celebs to talk about their most embarrassing back-to-school memories.  My interviews with Jeremy Piven and Jessica Alba made the cut.  Take a look at the video here.

I will try and write a bit more about my trip to Paris and be sure to check up on my latest news so you know what I'm shooting next!

Huh? What Did I Just Say?

I love what I do for a living and I am so happy that each day is different because I am not sure I could handle a desk job.  My creative brain likes to bounce all over the place and my job offers the opportunity to learn about so many different subjects.  I never thought I would become an alternative fuel vehicle expert, but my Toyota Live job has afforded me that.  I love entertainment news, so it is easy to prep for a red carpet job.  Plus, my ability to memorize quickly and pitch a product has allowed me to dabble in home shopping and infomercials from time to time.  Every once in awhile though, I watch myself on camera and think, "What did I just say?".  This is one of them.........(And that screen capture is priceless!)

2010 in Review: February

I had to go back and look at what I did in the month of February.  I always have a gig in Chicago, but the rest of the month was kind of a blur.  However, I have a lot of fun photos that really capture my month:

1.  We were in Chicago and away from all of our significant others on Valentine's Day, but this was a really fun champagne and chocolate-covered strawberry filled evening with my pals, Melody Freeman and Ted Napolitano.

2.  I finally got behind that door and found out what Club 33 was all about.  It is a must for any Disney geek and it is my most popular post of 2010.  What's behind that door?  Unicorns, rainbows, and all the magic of Disney.

3.  Chicago is the most enthusiastic city we hit with Toyota Live each year.  We even gave away a 2010 Prius live onstage which was so thrilling, the winner grabbed me in a huge bear hug when she was declared the winner.  I'll be back in February 2011 and hanging on the jumbo LED wall again.

4.  This was the first infomercial I had shot in awhile and it became my first in a series of four infomercials that I shot in 2010.  It was a great day on set with fitness expert, Jennifer Galardi.  If you want to see the final results, wait for me at 2 AM on your TV or click here.

5.  The Streamys "For Your Consideration" screenings were in full force in February as I covered the red carpet for Koldcast TV at the Fall of Kaden and Blue Movies showing.  Here I am with eventual Best Director nominee, Scott Brown, of Blue Movies.  You can see some of the footage from this evening here.

Come back tomorrow at Red Carpet Closet for a review of March 2010 with Atlanta, paparazzi photos, A Good Knight's Quest premiere and more!

My Exercise Wish List

The hardest thing about my job is being on the road and eating out....a lot.  It's easier to grab that bag of chips at the end of the day versus rising up an hour early to work out on the hotel treadmill.  And then, BAM!,  all of a sudden, you have five extra pounds creeping up on you.  I think many of you understand as we all struggle to balance, work, family, life, etc, and then try to squeeze a workout somewhere in there.  Well, one documentary changed my mind this summer:  Food, Inc.  The documentary was nominated for an Academy Award and it discloses the food practices and manufacturing in the US.  While I have always been a relatively decent eater, this movie changed my mind for good in less than 90 minutes.  Along with a change in the food I am putting in my mouth, I rededicated myself to a semi-regular workout routine out on the road.  It isn't always easy, but I feel so much better on the days I get my butt to the gym.

We feel good in our Lululemons! On set
with fitness personality, Jennifer Galardi,
for the Rhythm Rocker
So, in order to feel better at the gym, I've decided to save up for some expensive, but over-the-top comfortable workout gear, Lululemon. A pair of their workout pants averages from $80-$100, but it's is worth every penny.  I first came across Lululemon when I was on the location shooting the Rhythm Rocker infomercial.  The wardrobe department took us to the Lululemon store in San Diego and had me try on a plethora of different styles.  When I saw how tight the pants were on the mannequins, I thought, "Uh oh, my butt is going to look ginormous!"  Well, I have to say, my butt never looked better in these pants, especially coming from someone like me who likes to wear baggy pants to my workout.  I was hoping that wardrobe would gift me with the pants at the end of the shoot, but darn, I had to return them.  It is now my mission to get a pair for my wardrobe since I feel like a million bucks in them.  I am already planning a trip to the Beverly Hills store upon my return to LA.

My workout gear wish list.
Feel free to add any other workout wardrobe suggestions in the comments below as I am always in search of that piece gives me the illusion of being really fit. I would also love to hear your opinions on Food, Inc.  If you haven't seen the movie yet, add it to your Netflix queue.  Have a great weekend and I will see you on Monday at Red Carpet Closet!

Variety is the Spice of Life

If you want to know how varied my career is, take a look at these three videos that all came out this week.  From fitness to technology to the red carpet, I think I have covered it all:

The Rhythm Rocker Infomercial:  See me co-host a fitness video with Giuliana Rancic's personal trainer, Jennifer Galardi.  It was a long day on set, but a really enjoyable one.  Jenn and I got along fabulously and I loved my Lulu Lemon yoga pants.  Any day your butt looks good in tight pants, especially on TV, is a good one!  I hop onto the screen at about the 1:58 mark:

Broadcom: This is the first in a ten-week series delivering a the basics of Bluetooth. Although most of you are well-schooled in hooking up your Bluetooth technology, this video is for your aunt who is just getting rid of her flip cell phone with an antenna and joining the rest of us with Smart Phones.

Summer Festival of Short Films at The Egyptian: Back to my comfort zone, I hop on the red carpet
to interview the cast and crew of several short films participating in the festival. The red carpet was
pretty disorganized with actors running IN FRONT of the camera and ruining many interviews. Trust
me, I have another red carpet post coming your way on this topic soon. It happens more than you think.
Reporting for Mingle Media TV, here's one of the interviews with the cast of Skip Listening:
P.S. I love this screen capture. What the heck am I doing with my hand?
