Sean Tracey, of advertising and film/video production company Sean Tracey Associates in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, went to Los Angeles recently to shoot a film tentatively called “Morty & Marcus.” Tracey is co-producer of the film with his longtime friend and colleague Brian Connors, a WGA writer who penned the screenplay. Over the years, Connors, also a fine actor, has appeared in a number of Tracey’s best commercials. There was no hesitation on Tracey’s part to to jump on board the production when invited by Connors.Visit Sean Tracey Associates on the Web at http://seantracey.com.
“Morty & Marcus” is about two aging Hollywood moguls and longtime friends. On Oscar night, they argue about conspiracy theories, 9/11 and the attack on the Twin Towers. In the process, we unexpectedly learn that Marcus is a WWII concentration camp survivor.
The film crew Tracey worked with was among some of Hollywood’s greatest. Actors Ed Asner (Carl Fredricksen in the Oscar winning film “UP” and Emmy winner for his role as Lou Grant in the “Mary Tyler Moore Show”) and Mark Rydell (Director of Oscar wining film “On Golden Pond” and actor in “The Long Goodbye”) are the principal actors in the film. Tracey also brought in his good friend and collaborator, cinematographer Barry Markowitz (Sling Blade, Crazy Heart, All the Pretty Horses), to participate.
Connors and Tracey are now in the process of entertaining financing partners for a series of films featuring Hollywood’s “old guard,” with Morty & Marcus serving as the pilot film.
