[This piece crossed my desk this morning - the New Hampshire Film Festival gets a nice mention. Side note: the New Hampshire Film Office has also been exploring utilizing QR codes for location scouting and production directory purposes - very cool stuff! Stay tuned!]
For the first time in the US, three film festivals, two on the west coast and one on the east coast, will be using QR Codes on a variety of material to bridge the physical world with the digital world. The Port Townsend Film Festival (September 24-26), the New Hampshire Film Festival (October 14-17) and the Edmonds International Film Festival (October 20-24) will permit individuals to snap a QR Code with their smart phone cameras from a number of items: newspaper ads, posters, passes, program guides, tickets, t-shirts, temporary tattoos, chocolates, cookies, cupcakes, etc. Within a couple of seconds, iPhone, Blackberry, Droid users will be watching film trailers, video interviews, accessing websites and/or downloading information.
