[Passing along another opportunity to our film folks here in New Hampshire. The KahBang Film Festival is in Bangor, Maine.]
The submission period for The KahBang Film Festival has been to June 21st. Festival organizers are looking for new, cutting edge films of all genres to review for possible admission into the festival’s lineup. Filmmakers are encouraged to submit short or feature length narrative, documentary, and experimental films for consideration.
In the spirit of the KahBang Music and Arts Festival of 2009, this year’s addition of film marks the expansion of KahBang into the field of film, maintaining a emphasis on fresh, independent art and expression. This unique expansion strives to create one of the most unique and intimate film festivals in the country, where a convergence of artists, fans, and industry representatives will determine the future independent stars of film.
Films will be shown across five venues in the Bangor area during the festival week, lasting from August 6th through the 14th. Screening categories include, but are not limited to, Maine on Main (Maine based filmmakers and films), Gen-Next (emerging filmmakers), Perspectives (documentary), and Persistence of Vision (outstanding accomplishments in storytelling). Films will be shown at a number of venues, across the Bangor metropolitan area. Awards include Best Emerging Filmmaker, Best Documentary, Best Short Film, and the KahBang Audience Award for Best Film.
The cost of submissions are based on the four separate deadlines, with fees increasing until the extended submission deadline of June 21st. Submissions can be made using the form at www.kahbang.com or for a discounted rate at www.withoutabox.com.
